Possibly because the Japanese characters can translate to something different, so the Japanese version assumes it is something different than the English version; possibly because of a translation mix-up.
The English theme song is simply titled: Sailor Moon. The Japanese theme song is Moonlight Densetsu between seasons 1-4. The Sailormoon StarS theme is Makenai.
It depends whether you want the English theme song or the Japanese. The English theme song is "My Hands" By Leona Lewis. The Japanese theme song is called Kimi Ga Iru Kara. I don't know the name of the Japanese singer.
Japanese is made up of a large number of English loan words, more of which are added every year. There also seems to be an interest in the English language in Japan, and you'll see English words inserted into most anime songs. Schools in Japan teach about 2-4 years of English, although many students never fully grasp the art of speaking it fluently.
'L's Theme A' The more prominent characters of DN have their own theme songs; L has 3, which are played throughout the anime. This music was made specifically for the Death Note anime.
Yura Yura is one that is from Heart Grow. She sings it in Japanese.

well, most recent anime songs that AKB made was for AKB0048(its anime). AKB0048 used real AKB members for voice acting. the AKB producers used AKB songs to put in anime. i personally think because AKB uses so many members to sing, sometimes the songs are not great(you can disagreed with it since it is my own oppinion). AKB0048(the anime) used what i think best out of bests. album will be release on 10/4/2013
Despite the anime-esque appearance of Code Lyoko, it is actually French in origin. So the original theme song isn't in Japanese. The Related link below contains the French lyrics and the English translation. The original title is Un Monde sans Danger.
