Obviously the Axis Powers were not allies with the Brits, Americans and Russians and other allies. These were some of those countries: Japan, Germany, Italy, Thailand, and other countries. The Neutral countries of Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Ireland and Switzerland were not allies. Most of South America, most of the African Nations and many of the Middle Eastern nations were not allies with the US in World War 2,
The major cause of World War I was the fact that countries had secret alliances and rivalries. When Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia, all of Austria-Hungary's allies joined in, and all of Serbia's allies joined in. The fact that there were so many alliances, a lot of countries were dragged into the war, creating a World War. sure
The US didn't join in World War Two until the end, and as such no countries where it's allies, instead the US was the ally of Britain, France and the rest of the countries that had been in the war since the start. The Axis fought the Allies. The Allies were many countries, some of which were only involved for part of the war. Chief amongst the Allies were Great Britain, her Empire and Commonwealth, the USSR, the USA and France. But the Axis countries also fought countries such as Norway, Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium, Poland, Thailand (it was called Siam then), China, Greece etc. So World War Two was truly a world war.
In Word War I, the Allies included the United Kingdom, France, Russia, Italy, U.S., and Japan. In World War II, the Allies included the United Kingdom, USSR, U.S., and France (the "Free French" government in exile, after most of France fell to Germany).
