∙ 2018-02-27 00:58:39The United States and the United Kingdom agreed to give up their claims to the Oregon Territory in the 1846 Treaty of Oregon also known as the Adams-Onis Treaty. The United States received exclusive rights to the land between the 42nd and 49th parallels while the United Kingdom gave up its title to the land north of the 49th parallel. This treaty marked the end of the Oregon boundary dispute between the two countries.
