Nigeria is 5 hours ahead of New England. When it is 5 am in New England it is 10 AM in Nigeria, I do not know if Nigeria uses Daylight savings time or not so it may be an additional plus or minus an hour if they are both not using the same daylight savings change.
No, South Africa is located in Southern Africa right at the bottom of the African continent and Nigeria is located all the way in west Africa. The two countries are about a 7 hour flight away from each other although they are on the same continent.
