The head has to come off to replace a valve. That'a a pretty big job.
Get a repair manual at NAPA and follow the instructions.
The EGR Valve is located in the engine compartment on the Ford Focus. The EGR Valve is set almost dead center into the top of the motor. The EGR Valve looks like a small carburetor with caps on the top and sides.
Down behind the engine by the firewall.
Open the drain out valve at the bottom of the radiator to allow the coolant to run out. Replace the valve and add the fresh coolant.
An engine valve normally needs to be removed from the head for a valve job, or to replace other parts related to its operation like the spring or valve guide. This is normally done when the engine has a poor seal from the valve/valve seat or oil consumption caused by the vavle guide.

No PCV valve on this engine. Has "PCV system". Hose from valve cover to throttle body. Nothing to replace.
Not usually valve cover gaskets tend to leak after time just due to the constant temperature changes in the engine
what year, and which engine? Note: if it is newer year, there are two 3.0 liter engines, a 24 valve and a 12 valve. 2000 3.0 liter engine 24 valve

When facing the engine, you'll notice two small fittings on either end of the valve cover. The PCV valve is the one on your left. Unscrew the plasic cap and replace the valve.
Most likely it is your IAC valve - Idle air control valve. It comes out with 2 screws to replace.
The PCV valve on a 2004 Ford Taurus should be on the left side of the engine. It plugs into the valve cover at the rear of the cover.
On the drivers side on the engine block. follow the hose that comes from the back of the valve cover. may have to remove intake manifold.
You could transfer the upper intake manifold from the old engine to the new one one, and voila! you now have a non-EGR engine!

On a single cam ford focus 2000-2001 the cam position sensor is below the pcv valve. If looking at the engine it is on the right side, rear, about a 3inches from the top of the engine.
