What is the second least reactive group in the periodic table?

The Zinc Family also known as group IIB is the second least
reactive I believe. The least reactive family is the one with a
full p sublevel, the noble gases, the next least reactive would be
the family with a full d sublevel. Since group IIB has a full d
sublevel, it must be the next least reactive family.

Why were least reactive elements discovered before more reactive elements?

The simple reason is that least reactive elements are mostly
found in their native state while reactive elements are found in
combined state (in form of their compounds). It is easier to
extract any element in it's native or elementary form. Such
elements can be easily separated from their ore. They are separated
by using physical processes. Reactive elements need to be extracted
from their minerals through chemical processes which are more
expensive and tedious.

What is more reactive than sodium?

Sodium or Na is in the Alkali Metals family or Group 1.
All the elements in that family but Hydrogen or H are very
reactive.
It's very simple to find out which is the most reactive.
The farther down the list of go in the Alkali Metals the more
reactive the element is. So Lithium or Li is the least reactive of
them all and Francium is the most reactive of them all.
