This depends on the horse power. Less powerful cars with A/T mare mostly 2-5 mph slower than the same car with M/T. If you mean faster acceleration, in daily use a modern manual shifted car has no chance to beat the same car with A/T. On the paper there is still a slightly advantage for the M/T, but in typical take over manouvres you just need to kick down while the M/T owner still is looking for the right gear...
tacos ok manual is faster and if you want to know why just ask me
If you buy a standard then it will be a manual transmission. If you buy an automatic, then it will be automatic.
No, automatic transmissions may shift faster than a manual transmission because it takes a lot of skill to race and change gears using a manual with a clutch, however, the manual transmission allows you to decide exactly when to shift for more speed at the times you need it and for better engine performance when done by a skilled, practiced, professional racer.
Ummm yeah! They are usually cheaper than cars with an automatic transmission
They were manual transmission's Automatics did not really hit the scene until the late 1950s
Almost anyone does. Automatic transmission is only used by people who cannot drive a manual. Recent luxury cars and buses also use automatic transmission. Remember when you take your driver's exam with an automatic car, you will not be allowed to drive a manual. Given manual is the standard that is kind of a problem...
Most cars this is not a problem, the engines are identical.
The differences between automatic and manual cars refers to the type of transmission which is used in the car. Automatic cars are much easier to drive for most people as they do not need to change the gears by any special actions.
MT stands for Manual Transmission and AT stands for Automatic Transmission.
In the past a manual transmission equipped vehicle would always get better fuel mileage. But on cars built in the last 5 years that is not always true. There are some vehicles where the A/T equipped vehicle gets as good or better fuel mileage than a manual. Especially cars equipped with a CVT automatic transmission.

It depends on the vehicle. If the car was offered with a manual transmission or there are other cars with the same engine that have a manual transmission, then yes you can have stick shift installed.
