For example : Standard animation is around 16 (although some professional animators use 20 frames per second) fps (fps means frames per second), in film (or shooting a movie) there are 24 frames per second. There are a few things to realize though: the less frames you use the more choppy it will look, the more you use the smoother it will look, giving it a more natural feel. To find the answer to your question you must ask yourself 1 more; Is it animation or film? From that answer you can figure it out. For 2 seconds of animation there will be around 32 to 40 fps. For film there will be 48 fps.
