Most common ratios for that year with a 350v-8 (vin K) 3.73:1 or 3.42:1 In the glove compartment is a sticker containing "RPO" codes 3.73:1 = GT4 3.42:1 = GU6 You can call a GM dealer, give them your FULL VIN and they can tell you what the truck was equipted with from the factory.

what is stock differential ratios for a 1979 gmc jimmy

User Avatar

Yes. The stock size for a 94 Chevy K1500 is 16" rims. I have a 94 Chevy K1500 Silverado 4x4 Regular cab w/an 8' bed and it has 16" rims. You can go smaller if you like but your speedometer can be a little off.

It's an open front differential if it is stock. So is the rear differential

read the manual that came with the radio or ask a friend that is good with cars!!

The stock gear ratio for a 1995 Chevy Blazer is 3.73. This provides a good balance of fuel economy and power to the rear wheels.

There is a sticker on the drivers side door that will tell you.

The 1996 4.3L engine doesn't have a carburetor, it is fuel injected.

8.5 to 1 compression is factory stock.

6 to 8 degrees advanced. for stock compression ratio.

from the factory the 5.3 liter Chevy has 330 horsepower at the crankshaft it has about 290 at the tires depending on gear ratio

User Avatar

its likely a 2.73 or police edition 3.08

User Avatar

The horse power rating for the Chevy 1900 ranges between 195 to 200. The 5.3 liter engine was widely used in the year 1993.

depends on the year and drive ratio. the 98-03 z71 silverados had 285 h.p. stock. that was a vortec intake 4L60E trans. and 3.73:1 gear ratio in the differential.

Hear is an easy way to find out what your truck has in it FOR SURE. Wright the VIN # down and call a Chevy parts dealer and tell them that you have the VIN# and would like to know what the gear ratio is in your truck.

User Avatar

Not enough info. Assuming it is all stock, need to know what engine, transmission and the differential gear ratio it has.

User Avatar

It should come with 273 or 308 gears in a ten bolt 8.5 ring and pinion.

You have a RPO code in your glove box. I have a 1997 Z71 and my rpo is GX4 and the rear ratio is 3.73 You can use your vin number abd call Chevy or a axle place like Jaspers

I own a 1984 F150 XLT with a 351w (5.8 liter) and a 4V Holley carb. I 'just' had the differential rebuilt and the Ring & Pinion gear ratio that was in there was 3.0. It is a 9" Ford differential (stock). I had it replaced (it was worn anyway) with 2.75 ratio for better highway driving. I am not sure about the HP, though. My truck is wholly stock and I have been giving it a 'rolling restoration' since my late brother passed away in 2006 (I inherited it from him).

The stock rocker arm ratio for a Gen I Chevy small block is 1.5:1. The marine engines have the same rocker ratio, but use different cams and have bottom ends built to handle sustained RPMs.
