A machine having more than one spindle is called multi-spindle machine. A machine with 2 spindles are termed twin-spindle machine. In some of the cnc turning centers twin spindles are used to perform first and second operation simultaneously to complete machining of that component in same operating time. Spindles more than 2 is using in drilling machines normally to perform drilling operation of components like automobile engines at a time.

Don't bet the farm on my answer here. And don't take this verbatim. I'm having an issue with mine as well. When I asked around I was told that in this particular model car has something a little different on it. The spindle is left threaded, and to even remove the bearing to get it fixed, it requires a left threaded disposable nut for the spindle after replacement. Unfortunately since this was the only model they used reversed threading on. They don't manufacture those nuts anymore. And since they are disposable, if you try to get one off of another car. It will just break. In fact they were designed to break when removed (Hence "Disposable"). So the only option I was told I have was to have a whole new spindle welded on with the normal threading. Then move on to the bearing, brakes, ect. (My issue is on the rear driver side)
