discovered so far? only our own but a planet needs the righ:
-athmosphere so not too high pressures but also no dark sky and breathing acid might not be nice
-gravity, weirdly higher gravity makes for a better chance at life so super earth with 10-20x the gravity of earth have a higher chance
-temperature, ofcourse getting too hot or too cold would would lower chances
-position, geting bombarded with natural nukes and the time (astroids) doesnt help either.
-luck you just need the correct thing like the building blocks of life and proteins, water would be nice too but maybe it can be created in just any liquid
As of today only one planet in our Solar System can sustain life.
However in the past - Venus and Mars well may have had life, but it has died off. With Venus because of it's surface temperature. With Mars, it was because it cooled off after it's initial bombardment and was unable to sustain enough heat (as we know it) to sustain life.
Till now only earth is the only known on which we are living.
Maybe there are many more in universe.
earth-it is the only planet we know of that has the correct conditions for life
Earth's atmosphere is 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen which can support life on earth
So far as is known to date, only our planet is capable of supporting life.
As far as we know only earth
earth
Earth.
MARS.
As far as we currently know, it is Earth. But earth may in fact not be the only planet able to harbor life. We have just begun looking.
why do scientists aew able to predict where in the night sky a planet will be visible
In order for there to be LIFE AS WE KNOW IT on a planet, the planet must have liquid water; between 0 degrees Celsius and 100 degrees Celsius. Very few life forms are capable of living in boiling water (although a new variety of bacteria has been discovered living in salty ice pockets in Antarctica). If a planet is too close to a star, the temperature will be too hot; too far from the star, and the planet will be too cold. Only within the "habitable range" would humans be able to colonize the planet. Because we humans have not yet found other kinds of life, we have difficulty imagining what conditions "life as we DON'T know it" might be able to live in. I suspect that we will find that "life" exists in a vast range of environments that we humans would not find habitable.
If we discovered water on another planet, it means that humans may be able to inhabit that planet. It would be a big break through for scientists. Another answer may be that other organisms or bacteria may be able to live on that planet, meaning there could be life on another planet but Earth.
It is one of a few that are able to support living organisms.
Things that are physical able to move like humans living on the planet. (not completely sure)
Things that are physical able to move like humans living on the planet. (not completely sure)
earth
yes!
I believe it is because scientists have not discovered a way to make telescopes able to magnify to that extent.
of course bcoz we are living things CHAKA KA?!!
no it is to hot for it to indoor life
They are able to carry in oxygen and
they can sense and respond to change
no
Living things must be able to acquire nutrients and energy. This also means that living things must have a metabolism.
