Twenty-six presidents have appeared on US coins so far. They are the first 23 presidents plus Franklin Roosevelt, Eisenhower and Kennedy.

The mint is in the process of issuing a series of one-dollar coins honoring all the presidents in order, four per year. A Wm. McKinley coin is scheduled for 2/19/13

Technically, the answer is "every president except Carter, the Bushes, and Obama" because the Presidential Dollar series has used (or will use) portraits of every former US president who's no longer living.

For current-issue bills, the answer is 5:

  1. Washington - $1
  2. Jefferson - $2
  3. Lincoln - $5
  4. Jackson - $20
  5. Grant - $50

Hamilton ($10) and Franklin ($100) were extremely important figures in US history but neither served as president.

Other presidents such as Cleveland, Madison, Wilson, and others were on bills that are no longer produced.

For current coins other than Presidential dollars the answer is also 5:

  1. Lincoln - 1¢
  2. Jefferson - 5¢
  3. Franklin D. Roosevelt - 10¢
  4. Washington - 25¢
  5. Kennedy - 50¢

Eisenhower also was on $1 coins minted from 1971 to 1978.

George Washington on the $1 bill and 25 cent coin.

Thomas Jefferson on the $2 bill and 5 cent coin.

Abraham Lincoln on the $5 bill and 1 cent coin.

When you take into account the modern Presidential dollar coins, so far every President up through Grover Cleveland is on a $1 coin, including Andrew Jackson (on the $20 bill) and Ulysses S. Grant (on the $50 bill).

Alexander Hamilton on the $10 bill and Benjamin Franklin on the $100 were not Presidents. Meanwhile, Franklin D. Roosevelt on the 10 cent coin and John F. Kennedy on the 50 cent coin are not featured on any paper currency.
