The Mediterranean Sea is to the North of Africa. It separates Europe from Africa.
The Mediterranean Sea is directly north of Africa. This sea is almost completely enclosed by land and is surrounded by Africa, Europe, Anatolia, and Levant.
It isn't really an ocean, but the joining of the Atlantic Ocean and several different seas. However, my map calls it the Arctic Sea.
