Europe and Asia are on the same land mass, not separated land masses, so therefore these cannot be continents. A continent is a body of land separated by water. Europe nor Asia are separated by water.
The giant landmass was known as 'Pangea', before the continental drift separated the land into diffrent continents.
The theory of Pangaea was that once the world was a single land mass and then they separated into what we now call, continents.
