China and Cuba are both Communist states led by their respective Communist parties, while North Korea is a Stalinist-style Single Party State led by it's "Dear Leader" Kim Jong-il.

China, Cuba, Vietnam, North Korea, and several others
According to the Robert Service, an Oxford University scholar, North Korea follows the communist rules the closest. China, Laos, Cuba, and Vietnam also claim to be communist.
A despotism is a form of government in which a single entity rules. The difference between a despotism and a monarchy is that the ruling party in a despotism usually rules by his/her own rules, while a monarch usually has to follow established laws. Some examples of despotisms include North Korea, China, Cuba, and Venezuela.
North Korea is an ultra-tightly controlled Communist Dictatorship. The government hierarchy makes whatever rules/laws they wish and enforces them by force of their military and police.
Kim ill-sung was a fonder of North Korea
Even though China is all but capitalistic nowadays, it's still ruled by the Communist Party and therefore, it considers North Korea an ally. China does not always approve the way the Kim family rules N. Korea but it does not want South Korea to win either because it would mean many North Korean refugees would come over to China and also for pro-US forces (the South Koreans) and US forces themselves to be directly on the Chinese border.
Incorrect. North Korea has a dictatorship, which means they cannot vote on who rules them. South Korea is the democracy. Although, if you mean vote on something that has no impact on the North Korean government, and just voting on who has to make dinner, then it's completely legal.
China is a communist dictatorship.

North Korea and China are both COMMUNIST STATES but they are very different kinds of Communist States.China -- Leninist Communism: China is a Leninist Communist State. Leninist Communism is the political theory that a single party called the Communist Party rules the government and governs all affairs as opposed to individual politicians. Although the single party in a Leninist Communist State is the Communist Party, the party need not practice Communist political theory. In China, there is a state-directed, right-wing economic and political theory.North Korea -- Dynastic Communism: This is a unique category for North Korea which is a Communist State, but has succession in leadership passing along a dynastic line like a monarchy. Some consider Dynastic Communism to be part of the Absolute Monarchy category, because of the similarities, while others argue that since the leader of a Dynastic Communist State does not use royal titles that the state is not a proper monarchy.
