By far WW2 was more devastating. I suppose a greater proportion of the deaths in WW1 were military. But WW2 was a much more widespread and altogether larger conflict.

World War 2 casualty estimates range from 60-78 million people lost, both military and civilian. The greatest losses for a single country were for the Soviet Union estimated at 23-25 million, and China estimated at 10-20 million. The exact numbers will never be known.
