Heresy, basically, covered the adoption, maintaining, and spreading any ideas that were contrary to the authorised teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. This included, but was not limited to, the teachings of Martin Luther and anybody who followed such teachings.
A disciple by definition is the one who embraces and assists in spreading the teachings of another. But a follower is just limited to just believing in the religion.
