It may be heating up too much. There is a sensor that shuts down the motor when it gets too hot to keep from damaging the motor.
The 1996 Deville drain plug is in the bottom of the radiator close to the bottom hose. It is in a very hard place to reach.
change the oil pressure senser in the front of the motoer on the bottom just did it on mine

a 1996 deville has a total of 02 sensors. the 1st on is located on the bottom right side of the engine. The second is lower left side on maifold pipe,(left side of engine. The third one is before the cattalytic converter(bottom of car) And finally the fouth one is after the cattalytic converter,(follow the 3rd one back). All require special tool to remove. Sensors 1,3,4, are the simple to replace. Sensor two is in a tight spot. It almost took me an hour to replace it. All others take no more than ten minutes to replace. Good luck

The sensors are located at the bottom of the radiator supports. You have to remove the plastic windshield at the bottom (4 simple bolts). At the bottom you'll see the yellow plugs, small wire harness to on each side of the radiator

The 1995 Cadillac Deville sunroof fuse is located in the fuse box. The sunroof fuse will be one of the four auxiliary fuses at the bottom of the second column.
