I have an old recording of 'Porgy And Bess' produced in 1951 with Camilla Williams as Bess and Lawrence Winters as Porgy. However, there was a 1935 Theater Production that would have been the original cast. I do not know for sure, but the name of Dorthea Dandridge comes to mind. You should be able to find this out for sure with the internet looking up the name of the opera first and going from there.
