They are projections of Harry Potter and Hermione Granger. They appear in the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows chapter The Silver Doe when Harry opens the locket Horcrux for Ron Weasley to destroy.
The Horcrux learned Ron's fears when he wore the locket and in an attempt to stop Ron destroying it projected these fears. In doing so he projected images of Harry and Hermione kissing but it was noted that they looked different. Harry called them Riddle-Harry and Riddle-Hermione because that is who created them.
