All God prophets called their people to Islam. That means full submission to God with no partner, no associate, no companion, and no equivalence. Accordingly, the prophets are from Adam through Noah, ..., Abraham, ..., Moses, ..., Jesus, and Muhammad (peace be upon them all)

The Islamic definition of a prophet is someone who has been chosen and favoured by Allah (God) to convey his message to the people on earth and to bring them to believe in and worship him alone. In Islam there are two types of prophets, one is the Nabi who are regular prophets sent to do as mentioned. The second type is the Rasool who are messengers as they were sent a revelation in the form of a holy book.

Islam has 124000 prophets. The Prophet Muhammad was the final and greatest of them. Though mostly it's the Semitic prophets of the Middle East that are mentioned in the Islamic faith. This isn't to say the Europeans, Native Americans, Africans, central Asians, Aborigines, South Pacificers, Indians, Far easterners etc weren't sent prophets as Muslims believe that Allah sent prophets to every people.

As well as the Prophet Muhammad - Other renowned prophets of Islam include Adam, Nuh (Noah), Musa (Moses), Harun (Aaron), Ibrahim (Abraham), Lut (Lot), Ismail (Ishmael), Is'haq (Isaac), Yacoob (Jacob), Yousef (Joseph), Daud (David), Sulaiman (Soloman), Yahya (John the baptist - though this isn't his role in Islam) & Isa (Jesus).

Others who are less known include Idris (Enoch*), Salih (Shaloh*), Hud (Eber*), Ayoub (Job), Zakariah, Shoaib (Jethro*), Dhulkifl (Eziekiel), Alias (Elijah), Alyasa (Elisha) & Yunus (Jonah)

The following are mentioned in hadith or known from Oral tradition; Ishaia (Isaiah), Sheeth (Seth), Uzair (Ezra), Danyal (Daniel), Armya (Jeremiah) & Samuel.

Dhul-Karnain, Joshua (Assistant to Moses), Imran (Father of Mary), Khidr & Luqman are all mentioned as great men but their prophethood hasn't been specified, so they may have just been great pious individuals favoured by Allah.

Note: First; Islamic/Arabic name (Brackets; Biblical eqivalent - in some cases it isn't 100% certain if they are the same person but it is the most likely candidate; marked with asterisk*)

AnswerSomebody tells few numbers (they give some numeric) of prophets were send by Allah. Its wrong. How many languages spoken in the world when from first Prophet Adam to before the final Prophet Mohamed, each language have a messenger ie Prophet (Al-Quran 14:4)send by Allah. Also in few languages more than one Prophet were came.

Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him. But before him, many other prophets also came and so Muslims believe in Prophet Jesus, Prophet Dawood, Prophet Abraham and many other totalling 124,000. Islam teaches they were all Muslims.

Well, the prophet of Islam is called Muhammad he is the leader of Islam after God of course, Muhammad received information from God and told people about them, for your question, there are no leaders after Muhammad but his friends who were worthy of being in charge took the leadership but they have never been considered as prophets for islam, they just ruled the Muslim world by rules they read in Qura\'an

Prophet Adam (peace be upon him), the first man, was the first Prophet, and Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was the final Prophet.

However, major prophets of Islam are five. The first of them is Noah (Nuh) followed by, in order, Abraham (Ibrahim), Moses (Musa), Jesus (Isa), and Muhammad (peace be upon them all).
