Well, of all the branches in the United States, the legislature's power is bestowed more on the entire body than on individual members. The leader of the Executive is obviously the U.S. President, and the nine justices of the Supreme Court are the leaders of the Judiciary. Nevertheless, if I had to choose, I would say the Speaker of the House is the single most "powerful" member in Congress. These include controling debate on the House floor and having clout in the House Rules Committee (the committee that decides when bills are introduced to the House floor).
