Who are the people that make the band the beetles?
The original band that became the Beatles formed in 1957 as a school band founded by John Lennon; Paul joined in August that year and George in 1958. They started calling themselves "the Beetles" or "the Silver Beetles" in 1960. Ringo joined the band in 1962 - and they'd settled on "the Beatles" by then.
The Beatles were originally named Johnny and the Silver Beetles or just The Silver Beetles. They got the idea to be The 'Beetles' from Buddy Holly's band The Crickets. John Lennon then explained that "a man on a flaming pie" came to him in a dream and said "you are The Beatles with an 'a' ". The Silver part was dropped and they eventually became The Beatles.
