Jesus' first miracle was the turning of water into wine, at a wedding in Cana. he was not asked by anybody to perform it, but simply did so after another guest exclaimed at the lack of wine.

Another answer:John 2:3-5 - And when they ran out of wine, the mother of Jesus said to Him, "They have no wine." Jesus said to her, "Woman, what does your concern have to do with Me? My hour has not yet come." His mother said to the servants, "Whatever He says to you, do it." [NKJV]

There are many people in the Old Testament who are involved with miracles such as Moses, Elijah and so on. However, these people were not responsible for the miracles, but were merely channels for God's power to work those miracles.

The first actual human to perform miracles in his ownname was Jesus Christ who performd miracles in his own name to demonstrate to others that he was divine as the Jews knew categorically that only God could perform miracles.

The first of Jesus'miracles is recorded in John's gospel ( he calls them 'signs' of who Jesus actually is) and is the turning of water into wine.
