Short answer: Stalin Long answer: At the time of Lenin's death there were a few prominent party leaders that all could have potentially seized power. They are Stalin, Kamenev, Zinoviev and Trotsky. Lenin's final testament labeled Trotsky as his preferred successor, however this was never released to the public. Seeing Trotsky also as the most popular member (also with the army behind him), he was dubbed the biggest threat by Stalin and an alliance was formed between Stalin, Kamenev and Zinoviev to take down Trotsky. This was successful and Trotsky lost most power, his influence and eventually was exiled between 1928 - 1930 (just going off of memory). Stalin was the most adequate leader and maneuvered himself within the alliance of Kamenev and Zionoviev to become the prominent party member. Both of these men would later end up date, certainly at the behest of Stalin.
Nikita Khrushchev (First Secretary of the Communist Party) and Georgi Malenkov (Premier of the Soviet Union) both came to power in their respective positions upon Stalin's death. Khrushchev held the real power, because the Soviet Union was governed by the Communist Party. About 2 years later, Malenkov was out and Khrushchev took both titles.
Nikita Khrushchev
Nikita Khrushchev became the General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union after Stalin died. The General Secretary's position was the real seat of power in the Soviet Union at the time. In that sense only can it be logically said that Khrushchev "lead communism" after Stalin died. It would be incorrect to say that he "lead communism," because "communism" existed in several other countries and neither Stalin nor Khrushchev lead those countries. One could say that Nikita Khrushchev lead communism in the Soviet Union in particular, but not that he lead communism in general.
Josef Stalin continued to lead the Communists in Europe till he died, after which Khrushchev took over from him.
No, Lenin had died in 1924 and the Cold War did not begin till after WWII.
in 1956, three years after Stalin died, party secretary khruschev gave a secret speech to the assembled communist party congress that condemned Stalin for being a tyrant. though it was secret, news did leak out, leading many to think that a period of reform was brewing. in Hungary, reformists took the lead and staged the beginnings of a revolution. soviet policy, however, had not changed that much and the revolution was crushed.
Formed by Bolsheviks lead by Lenin after the revolution in Russia, which happened in 25. october, 1917. USSR broke in 1991.
it mad him mad
His idea of making the USSR democratic, didn't help him with popularity but it did eventually lead to the unintentional fall of communism in Eastern Europe.
Joseph Stalin, who lead the USSR and was the cause of many countries to be dictated.

The population of the USSR's (today known Russia) in 1939 was 168,524,000 but by 1946 it was 170,548,000. There is a good reason for this, before WW2, the Baltic states wasn't part of the USSR but in 1941 once the Baltic states becomed part of the USSR, the general population of the USSR was 196,716,000, then during WW2, around 25 Million Soviets died, which lead to the population being around 170 Million by 1946.
There are several factors that lead to the end of the Cold War. These include the weakness of USSR's economy, 1979 Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, rivalry between the US & USSR and lastly, US's containment Policy.
