These are two different Jane Austen novels we're talking about: Pride and Prejudice - Mr Darcy is proud; Elizabeth Bennet is prejudiced. Sense and Sensibility - Eleanor Dashwood has sense; Marianne Dashwood has sensibility.
I think Pride and Prejudice is a more comic, lighter, and cheerful book. It has regrets, but there is always a feeling of optimism about it. By contrast, Sense and Sensibility has more of a feeling of resignation in it, even a feeling of hopelessness, that makes reading it more difficult for me. I am sure there is much more to this, the sorts of things people can analyse from a literary point of view. I would be interested in learning what they are.
This is a question that strikes me as being somewhat like, "Which should I try first, the world's best chocolate cake or the world's best apple pie?" It really depends on what sort of thing you like. That having been said, I would suggest Pride and Prejudice, but I have to admit it is only because I so easily fell in love with Lizzy. Marianne Dashwood is too romantic for me, and Elinor is to sensible. Lizzy, however, is a delight through and through. But that is just me, and Sense and Sensibility is also a wonderful book.Perhaps you should develop your own opinion.
Pride & Prejudice is probably her most famous, Sense & Sensibility coming next. Other works such as Emma, Northanger Abbey, Mansfied Park, Persuasion, and Sanditon, are also really popular (and have been since).
