The poem never actually talks about that. The Lady of Shalott obviously knows about the curse, and who put the curse on it, but "She knows not what the curse may be".
My guess is that it was probably a wizard, possibly Merlin.
the curse is that she cannot look at the world without looking through a mirror
She is cursed so that when she looks at the outside world she will die :(
The curse begins to take effect when the Lady sees Lancelot outside her window. "The Lady of Shallot" is a Ballad penned by Alfred, Lord Tennyson.
After she looked directly through the window and the curse had fallen on her, the Lady of Shalott in the island came down to the river and lay down on the boat in her trance at the closing of the day. She floated down to Camelot on her final journey through the noises of the night, leaves lightly falling upon her all the way. When the dead and still Lady of Shalott reached and floated by under the tower and balcony and between the high houses of Camelot, the sound of royal midnight revelry died in the nearby lighted palace, and seeing the drifting body, they all crossed themselves for fear. Therefore it can be logically assumed that it was during the midnight that the gone Lady of Shalott reached Camelot.
Tennyson wrote two versions of the poem, one published in 1833, of twenty stanzas, the other in 1842 of nineteen stanzas.
A baldric is a sash worn across the chest, from shoulder to hip - blazoned means that it had the person's coat of arms embroidered on it. Slung means thrown across his chest.
You can put many adjectives in front of lady. But the word ''lady'' doesn't have a pacific adjective.
Simply put, it is the fear of lady bugs.
In the poem "The Lady of Shalott" by Alfred, Lord Tennyson, the curse fell upon her because she looked directly at Sir Lancelot, whose beauty and presence she found irresistible. This caused her to leave her weaving and look out of her tower window, thus breaking the spell that had kept her isolated from the outside world.
To avoid the curse, the Lady of Shalott must not look directly out of her window at the world outside, and instead must only view the reflections in her mirror and weave what she sees.
there are 171 lines in the poem lady of Shalott
The Lady of Shalott displays consistency in her devotion to crafting her art despite being confined to her tower. However, her actions become inconsistent when she decides to break the curse and face the outside world, leading to her eventual demise.
