Straight after the battle he went on a long journey. He headed first for Invergarry castle then onto Loch Lochy, Loch Arkaig and Achnacarry. From there he went to Kinloch Arkaig, out to Morar and onto Borradale where he set sail for Benbecula. From Benbecula he went to Skye. He departed the winged isle from Elgol and arrived back on the mainland at Mallaig and headed for Poolewe via Sheil Bridge. Then it was down to Glenmoriston to Invercannich, Glen Roy, Achnacarry and back to Borrodale where he set sail for France.
