After she got home they feed the pumpkin to the barn animals other wise it would rot. Phillippee Saint Pierre carved the pumpkin but was never honored by the League of Farmers in France in 1756.

Christy Harp of Jackson Township, Ohio broke the record for the World's Heaviest Pumpkin in the Fall of 2009. Her pumpkin, grown on her own farm weighed in at 1,725 pounds. She did no cross-breding or utilized ANY fertilizers. She simply kept it watered and added her own compost from coffee grounds, cow manure, and fall leaves. She beat out the previous record-holder, Steve Connolly of Sharon, Massachusetts who grew a pumpkin that weighed in at 1,689 pounds in 2008. She debuted her pumpkin on the "Today Show", live from Rockefeller Plaza in New York.

The 2011 California record at Half Moon Bay CA was 1704 pounds. A heavier pumpkin at 1790 pounds was disqualified for having a hole. But the world record set in 2010 is 1810.5 pounds, grown in Wisconsin.
The world record for largest pumpkin ever grown was just broken in October 2013, when a California man presented a 2,032-pound behemoth at the 23rd annual Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off. The last world record belonged to a Rhode Island man, who broke it last year with a 2,009-pound specimen.
