She attended Oilfields High School, and then went on to study Journalism, Photorgraphy at South Alberta Institute of Technology. Stephen and Laureen married in 1993, Laureen continued to run buisness from her home Calgary until her husband was appointed Leader of the Official Opposition in 2002. She relocated to Ottawa, and as well know her husband was sworn as Prime Minister on Feb. 6,2006. Laureen is known for her volunteer work with the National Arts Centre and the Ottawa Humane Society and the Heart and Stroke Foundation and various other charities for the public good.
