Who is the strongest character in Fairy Tail?

Its Natsu and Erza you can't choose between them but I, think it might be most likely be Natsu.

NOTE: The top three strongest wizards of Fairy tail are:

Laxus, Erza and Mystogan.

But Laxus was expelled on one of the episodes and in the Manga,

Mystogan had to stay behind to govern Edolas, as the prince of Edolas!

This is half-true before Gildarts was introduced in the manga. As of now, Gildarts is the strongest mage in FairyTail. His colossal power matches or even surpasses that of Makarov. You can even feel the earth trembling as he walks in the far distance. But unlike Laxus, he is loved by the town of Magnolia and the guild.

But if you want to know the main characters of the anime and manga, I can tell you.

They are: Erza Scarlet, Gray Fullbuster, Lucy Heartfilia, Natsu Dragneel and Happy!

The main male character is Natsu and the main female character is Lucy.

There are three strongest character in Fairy Tail. Including Erza , Mystogan and Laxus. Laxus doesn't consider himself as one of the strongest. He think of himself as the strongest person in whole world. But there are many strongest in Fairy Tail! Hope it helps you!

Well, this is also an opinion question. If I were to say it, I would say possibly Mirajane (after she unlocks her Satan Soul again), Natsu (because he's the main character and always gets better...and better...and better), or Erza. I don't count Mystogan because he's technically someone from Edolas. Laxus is a possibility, as he defeats Jura, one of ten holy wizard saints, and of course, the master, Makarov. Right, but in the manga, the person who everyone talks about is the strongest is Gildartz. Gildartz creamed Natsu, who is very, very strong, so the answer in the end...is Gildartz.

You could argue it's both Lucy and Natsu.

In one way, the show is about Lucy and her experiences joining the guild. We hear her 'inner' thoughts and feelings more than anyone else, as if she's a narrator.

On the other hand, Natsu is the classic hero/leader character. He is the focus of most of the action, he tends to be the one to fight and defeat almost all of the major villains.
