Mahyar Monshipour Kermani, (born 21 March 1975 in Bam, Iran) is an Iranian born French boxer who was the WBA's super bantamweight champion for nearly three years between 2003 and 2006. He was also awarded the Ring Fight Of the Year in 2006 in a match with Thai Boxer Somsak Sithchatchawal
He was also awarded The Fighter of The Year award by Ring magazine
It is/was the first and only time a French boxer had been awarded by The Boxing Writer's Association
He moved to France in 1986 during the Iran and Iraq War and started boxing at the age of 18
He retired at 32 with a professional record of 31-4-2(21)
His amateur record was 33 wins 24 by KO, 7 losses and 2 draws
