Naruto's dad saves naruto from being overwhelmed by the fox, and in the most recent manga (495 or thereabouts) his mom helps him defeat the fox.

Naruto's mother is dead but she will appear when naruto is about to lose control like his dad appeared when naruto was fighting pein. But she has only appeared in the manga, we still don't know about whether he meets his mom in the anime. But i hope he will meet his mom.

I dont know if he ever sees his mom but his dad does amke contact with him later in the series
How did Naruto mom and dad die?
His mom died because she was kidnapped by Tobi (who had threatened to kill naruto first) and had the kyuubi inside of her (the nine tails) taken out of her. But because she inherited the longevity life of her clan she was able to survive for a few moments after the nine tails was extracted from her(most jinchuriki just die instantly after having their kyuubi extracted from them). Naruto's dad died because he used the dead demon seal to seal the nine tails in naruto and the user who casts the jutsu dies afterwards.
