The camarlengo is in charge of the day to day running of the Church if a pope dies, resigns or becomes in some way incapable of carrying out the duties of the office. His principal responsibility at this time is to arrange for the funeral of the previous pope and make all the arrangements for the conclave to elect a new pope.

When the Pope becomes part of the deceased, the college of cardinals will come together in the Sistine Chapel located in the Vatican and decide the new pope. When the papacy position is considered "vacant" until the new popes coronation, the bishops will be the ones in charge of the Catholic Church!

Is there a Roman Catholic sect that allows priest to marry and who?

First of all there is no "Roman" Catholic, it is just Catholic. Secondly there are no Catholic "sects" there are Rites within the Church but they are all Catholic, they all follow the Pope in Rome as the Vicar of Christ. Thirdly, no Catholic priest may attempt marriage after ordination, they all take a vow of celibacy. However, most of the Rites in the Church allow men that are already married to be ordained, thus most of the Rites have married priests. The Latin Rite (which is the largest and most visible especially in the western world) only ordains celibate men ordinarily. There are exceptions (like the Anglican priests who convert), but again, no priest may attempt marriage after ordination. Any priest who was married when he was ordained may not marry again if his wife dies.

Can a Catholic woman remarry in a Catholic Church after a divorce?

no the church would only recognize your first marriageANSWER: Yes, if you resolve your 1st marriage through the Church's annulment process. The Catholic Church doesn't recognize "Caesar's" (the state's) divorce decree as sufficient dissolution of a solemn promise/covenant (marriage) made before God and witnesses. Marriage can't just be summarily dismissed as easily as it is now in secular society.

What do the Roman Catholics do if the Pope of the Roman Catholic dies?

Roman Catholic AnswerWhen the Pope dies, there is an official period of mourning. All the Cardinals from all over the world gather to perform their primary function - to elect a new Pope. There is one Cardinal who is in charge of the Church during he interregnum known as the Sede Vacant (the period when an episcopal see is vacant usually applied to the See of Rome), although he can make no lasting official decisions. They meet in the Sistine Chapel and vote, the new Pope must receive two thirds plus one, I believe. Most Catholic pray fervently during this period, not only for the repose of the old Pope, but for the Holy Spirit's guidance of the Cardinals in the selection of a new Pope, and for his guidance by the Holy Spirit when he accepts the mantle of Peter.

Why is Ash Wednesday in the Christian calendar?

The 'Day of Ashes' or Dies Cinerum began in the 6th century AD by the Roman Catholic Church. Many say it began by Pope Gregory the Great (590-604 AD). Naturally, as the most powerful and largest Church, it spread through the Empire. During the Protestant Reformation, many if not all of the 'daughter' churches kept this custom on the calendar.
