Aang is the current incarnation of the Avatar. He is biologically a twelve-year-old boy, but chronologically he is one hundred and twelve due to being frozen in an iceberg for a hundred years. Katara and her older brother, Sokka, found him and Appa in the frozen air sphere. All the time, Aang likes adventure and fun than doing his jobs as the Avatar. He's a little light-hearted and very moody at times. In the end of the series, he and Katara had a relationship. He successfully defeated the aggressive Phoenix King Ozai by using the knowledge the legendary Lion Turtle taught him, by Energybending.
The members of 'Team Avatar' are... Aang, Sokka, Katara, Toph, Appa, Momo, Suki from time to time, and eventually (SPOILER) Zuko.

The Avatar after Aang is Korra who is a waterbender
Korra is a female Waterbender native to the Southern Water Tribe, as Water succeeds Air in the Avatar Cycle. Korra has already mastered Waterbending, Earthbending, and Firebending, but has yet to master Airbending. She will learn Airbending from Aang and Katara's son, Tenzin, an Airbending Master. Unlike the previous series, Avatar: The Legend of Korra is rooted in only one place. This location is Republic City, a place where people of all nations, benders and non-benders, live together. The city is ridden with crime and is rattled by an anti-bender revolt, which serve as challenges for the characters in the show.

∙ 15y agoWell, in Book 1: Water; Aang, Katara, and Sokka visit the Southern Air Temple where Aang grew up. They open a chamber filled with past Avatar statues. They are in an order, Water Earth Fire Air. When Aang dies, the element that the next Avatar will be Water. Then when that avatar dies, it will be Earth.... and so on.
