Who is the brother to Jesus Christ?
Everyone who believes that he is the Christ and he died for our sins and was risen in three days and now sits at the right hand of God.
Other than that... Jesus had four step-brothers: James, Joses, Simon and Judas -(Matt.13:55). And at least two step-sisters (verse 56).
Here's a little more detail on this:
Mary and Joseph had no children before Jesus (Matthew 1:18-21, 24&25 ), but a number of scriptures mention "the Lord's brothers," "the brother of the Lord," "his brothers," "his sisters," naming four of the "brothers": James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas. (Matthew 12:46; 13:55, 56; Mark 3:31; Luke 8:19; John 2:12; Acts 1:14; 1Corinthians 9:5).
During Jesus' ministry, "his brothers were, in fact, not exercising faith in him," this would certainly rule out their being his brothers in a spiritual sense. (John 7:3-5) Jesus contrasted these fleshly brothers with his disciples, who believed in him and who were his spiritual brothers. (Matthew 12:46-50; Mark 3:31-35; Luke 8:19-21).
Jesus had at least four brothers and two sisters that were offspring of Joseph and Mary by natural means after the miraculous birth of Jesus.(Mark 6:3)
Jesus' brother James, who was singled out prominently among the older men in Jerusalem, wrote the letter bearing his name. (Ga 1:19)
In addition to the above, the brother of Jesus, James, is also singled out a great deal in Acts as well as Paul's letters, and the contexts of these confirms that James became a well-respected and important leader of the early church, and wrote the letter in the Bible that bears his name.
Jesus Christ's brother was named Judas. Was this the same person that was both his apostle and the one that betrayed Christ?
The writer of the Epistle was Jude, as verse 1 states: "Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called." He was a brother of James and half-brother of Jesus. He did not accept that his brother was indeed Christ until after the Resurrection. AnswerThe author it is unknown. That is a wonderful question, but the Bible does not use much punctuation, so in reality, speaking of the grammar, it is suppose to be written Jesus, Christ. not Jesus Christ. As many references in the KJV of the Bible, is Christ Jesus, written correctly Christ, Jesus, or Jesus, Christ. It is referring to Christ.
You could say he is my brother but in reality He is my God and my Husband and my Savior. Clarification: Jesus is the Groom or Head of the (universal) Church and the Church is the Bride of Christ. He is a Savior because he came to be the ultimate sacrificial lamb of God when he died and rose again. He is God because he said he was God when he said he was the…
The true church of Jesus Christ is made up of believers of Jesus Christ and is called the Body of Christ/ the Bride of Christ. Jesus Christ Himself is the Head of this mystical body of believers. Jesus Christ is our Lord, Master, Savior, and our God, as Jesus Christ is the second Person of the Holy Trinity.
'Christ' comes from the Greek word for 'anointed', and the Hebrew word is 'messiah' (approximately). The ancient Jews anointedtheir kings and high priests, and the first-century Jews hoped for a new messiah to liberate their nation. The early Christians saw Jesus as this longed-for messiah. So, 'Christ' is a title, not a name - in English, Jesus Christ means 'Jesus the anointed one'.
Are you asking about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints or the Church of Jesus Christ? The Church of Jesus Christ is another name for Christianity, and was obviously founded by Jesus Christ. It meant the same as it does today - a person who accompanies another person, and John, in Revelation, says it all for us: I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ. (Revelation 1.9)
Jesus did not have a brother named Justus. Answer 2 : Justus was the accorded eldest natural son of Joseph the Carpenter, the supposed father of Jesus Christ. Andrew John 1:40 One of the two who heard John speak and followed Jesus was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother. John 1:41 He first found his own brother Simon and said to him, "We have found the Messiah" (which means Christ). John 1:42 He brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, "So you are Simon the son of John? You shall be called Cephas" (which means Peter).
