William M. Stone (born October 14, 1827 in Jefferson County, New York; died July 8, 1893 in Oklahoma Territory) succeeded Samuel J. Kirkwood as the sixth Governor of Iowa, serving between January 14, 1864 and January 16, 1868, including the whole of 1865.
