What was the the name of the evil person in Sleeping Beauty?

The villain in Disney's 1959 animated movie was called Maleficent.

*Add on by MissDagger*- Or if you're talking about the book, the King and Queen held a grand feast when their daughter was born. They invited all the fairies in the land; purple, pink, blue, green, yellow, orange, etc. But they didn't invite the grey fairy because she was evil. She got angry, and cursed the baby.

And unlike in the movie, Sleeping Beauty was asleep for 100 years before Prince Charming kissed her and woke her.

The original story of Rapunzel was pretty rough. There were a lot of parts in it that could be called evil.

• Rapunzel's mother was manipulative, saying she would die if she did not get the lettuce she wanted.
• Before Rapunzel was even born, her father was stealing food from Dame Gothel's garden for her mother.
• When Gothel caught the father, she showed no mercy. She gave him the option of death or giving her the baby, a pretty high price to pay for some stolen lettuce.
• Gothel locks the child away from everyone in a tower.
• Later, after Gothel found that Rapunzel (then pregnant) had found love was so enraged, that she left Rapunzel in the middle of the desert to live in misery.
• Gothel came back and tricked the prince into climbing the tower. She pushed him down so he fell into the thorns. His eyes were pierced, and he was blinded.
