Two Italians first reached the top of K2: Lino Lacedelli and Achille Compagnoni. It was July, 31 1954.

K2 also known as Mount Godwin-Austen is the second highest mountain in the world standing at 8,611 metres (28,251 ft). The first to reach its summit were Achille Compagnoni and Lino Lacedelli on the 31st July 1954.
