Many saints are honoured in Ireland, most notably Ireland's patron saint, St. Patrick, and Ireland's patroness, St. Brigid. St. Patrick's Day is Ireland's national holiday. There are many other Irish saints and Irish people have strong affinity for saints from outside of Ireland too.
