Who kept notes of the Constitutional Convention proceedings?

James Madison claims that he kept notes on the proceedings. He later used the alleged notes to write about the Constitutional Convention of 1787. Professor Herbert J. Storing, has written works on the anti-federalists. These were the people who did not want the Constitution, and prefered to retain a Confederation where states retained supreme authority within the confines of their borders.
