Christopher Columbus landed disputably in North America, some may say Central America. However, he still landed in the Americas and though he was in India; he named the Native Americans the name: Indians.
He thought he was going to asia when he went to north america and landed on the hudson river
Asia
Historians believe that people from Asia, China, and Polynesia may have also landed in North America.
the Indies
Columbus thought he had reached India (which is a country in the continent of Asia) but in reality he had landed on Caribbean Islands (North America). (this is why Native Americans are called Indians).
North America and Australia
Asia. He had no idea that North America stood in his way. He found the Bahamas and got near North America when he landed on Cuba.
To prove the world was round by reaching Asia, but as we now know they found North America and called the Indians because they thought they landed in India.
Islands off the coast of India
Christopher Columbus believed that the lands he reached were the West Indies, in Southern Asia, although it was actually the Carribean Islands, south of North America.
Asia and North America are separate continents, so Asia is not in North America.
He tried to find a western passage to south east Asia.
