∙ 14y agoJohn Lennon started a band in high school, called the Quarry Men (for Quarry Bank Grammar School, which they mostly attended). Paul McCartney and George Harrison joined that group, and they eventually became the Beatles. (Ringo Starr joined later.)
John Lennon and Paul McCartney formed the 'Silver Beatles'. They met George Harrison at school and he joined the band, Pete Best was the drummer. They changed the name to The Beatles and replaced Pete Best with Ringo Starr.
