Almost all furniture is an antigravity device, as are cooking pots and other human utensils. It's all designed to keep us and our food and playthings from falling to the floor. The first furniture began when ancient man put his food, or his flint weapon, on a rock or tree trunk to more comfortably eat or work. Much later crude tables were made from timber, and later still, chairs happened. Next thing you know we've got Louis Viii chairs and houses full of beautiful artefacts. Amazing, isn't it?
