How do the stages look like in the medieval period?

For most of the Middle Ages, and in most parts of Europe, theater was done outdoors. There were very few buildings that were intended to be theaters, perhaps there were none in Western Europe. Theatrical productions, however, were done throughout the Middle Ages by various groups of people who travelled around, very much as modern circuses do. They very often had large wagons called pageant wagons, some mounted on six wheels, and these were used as stages. The productions were done in courtyards, at fairs, and in areas of the countryside that were naturally shaped well for audience viewing. In England, where there were rood screens in the churches, theatrical productions were sometimes done in churches, if they had suitable content. There is a link below to more on the medieval theater and staging.

Are there any auditions for West End Musicals in Glasgow for 12 year old girls in 2008?

Most auditions for West End productions are done in London and are not divulged to the public. Most casting for children is done through approacing youth theatre groups and by word of mouth. Open auditions for big productions are rare, and often very difficult to receive information about. However, there are often open auditions for children for film and TV, but I would recommend joining a youth theatre group if you are really serious about wanting to joing the buisness. Hope this helps!

Why doesn't China make anime?

There are small groups and individuals producing anime all over the world now, but Japan, where this art began about a hundred years ago, is the largest producer of films in this genre. The Chinese government discourages people from these kinds of productions, and this severely restricts the making of Chinese anime. Note that animation in China began just a bit later than it did in Japan. It's just that the type of characters the Chinese drew were different. Use the link below to learn a bit about Chinese animation and see what is said about repression by the Chinese government.

Where was theater produced in the middle ages?

There was a good deal of variation, which should not be a surprise, as the Middle Ages were a period of European history of a thousand years. At the beginning of the Middle Ages, theatrical performances were banned by the Church, as part of an effort to put an end to gladiatorial combats and such similar spectacles, with which they were associated. Nevertheless, theater survived. Theatrical productions in the East developed from theater of the Roman Empire and Greece. The large scale productions were in the outdoor theaters we often see in pictures of ancient times. We have very little in the way of records of the early Byzantine period, but the suggestions are that it was also produced indoors, possibly in large rooms. In the West, productions in amphitheaters were no longer possible in the Early Middle Ages because of the lack of economic stability. Theatrical groups became itinerant, performing at any convenient place. Among these places were crossroads, places near bridges, and natural depressions in the countryside that could be used as amphitheaters. Town squares and courtyards became important places for productions. Large wagons, called pageant wagons, had stages on top of them, so the actors could be seen by the crows. Though mummers plays were not acceptable to the Church, the morality plays, mystery plays, and miracle plays were, and some churches allowed them to be staged within the church itself.
