If I remember my facts correctly that gun was never able to be traced back to any particular person. There could be many different reasons for this. The gun may have been illegal from the beginning and with no permits a weapon can be very hard to find the original or rightful owner. It is a fact that Manson would not have been able to purchase a gun on his own due to his felony record. It is also true that the 'family' made a habit of stealing what they wanted or trading with others with similar lifestyles.
August 9, 1969
The book Sharon Atkins wrote about the Sharon Tate murders is called "Child of Satan, Child of God."
The Tate-LaBianca murders were carried out by followers of Charles Manson, a cult leader. Manson himself did not directly participate in the murders but orchestrated them through his followers, who became known as the Manson Family. Manson's motive was to incite a race war he called "Helter Skelter."
The man responsible for the Tate/LaBianca murders is none other than Charles Manson. Although Mason killed nobody at the above murder scenes he gave the orders and as such was found guilty of multiple counts of first degree murder, which in the state of California carries the death penalty.
Manson had been to the house on Cielo Dr. months before the murders looking for record producer Terry Melcher. In fact Melcher did live there at one time and he owned the home which he rented to director Roman Polanski and his wife Sharon Tate. Manson was furious after Melcher took a pass on Manson's music. So the murders on that August night in 1969 were not entirely random. The next night Manson ordered the killing of Leno and Rosemary LaBiana, their killings only slightly more random than the Tate murders. Manson had been to a house in the neighborhood of the LaBianca's so he was familiar with the area.
The owner of 10050 Cielo Dr. was talent manager Rudy Altobelli. Less than a year before the murders record producer Terry Melcher second sublet the house to the Polanski's. Roman Polanski and wife actress Sharon Tate moved in to the house in March.
I'm not sure Michael Reznor has a fascination for Charles Manson. He is the manager for Marilyn Manson, the rock singer. And I'm sure he is interested in his career.
On Cielo Drive ( which means ceiling or heavens!) in Los Angeles, California- Three men and two women- Sharon Tate and Abigail Folger were the victims of the murderous ( Full House) of the Manson Murders. Only one Manson crime involved firearms- an odd nine-shot revolver had been discarded by the gang but was recovered by Boy scouts or campers who , naturally gave it to the police. It was a High Standard 9-shot .22 caliber revolver. the odd configuration of the gun immediatly flagged attention, as we known Most revolvers chamber six shots.-hence six shooter.

Not for the Tate-LaBianca murders. It is always possible that he could be connected to unsolved murders, and in fact police have been excavating for more bodies. Or if he murders someone inside prison it is possible he could get a death sentence. But I would say the chance of that happening is pretty slim. Manson is in his 70s. By the time new charges were brought against him and then the long wait for the appeals he will probably die of natural causes anyway.
Sharon Stone was born on March 10, 1958
