Shakespeare wrote a play about Richard III, which showed him as a villain. Scholars nowadays think that might have been a bit of Propaganda because he was writing for a Tudor Queen (Elizabeth).

∙ 16y agoBefore the Tudors there was a period known as the Wars of the Roses: The House of York fighting against Lancaster for the crown, the reigning monarchs being Henrys IV, V & VI of the house of Lancaster against Edwards IV & V & then Richard III of York. In 1485 Henry Tudor defeats Richard III at the Battle of Bosworth.
