I see education as a compilation of knowledge. Knowledge help us being more aware of the world we live and they way it works nowadays. Without education you are going to live a life with no sense at all and maybe with no purpose. What makes us different from animals (Aristotle) is that we can reason. Being able to make rational decitions help us be aware of the consequences or benefits that our actions will have. There is another way to live, is called "nihilisim" (a life full of pleasures and with no purpose).
