The Bible doesn't actually say. It was probably Roman soldiers. It could have been Joseph of Arimathea, as he took His body for burial.

Knowing the custom, I doubt the Roman soldiers would have let anyone take Him down from the cross except themselves, to be sure that He was truly dead.

According to John 19:38 and Mark 15:46 Joseph of Arimathaea removed the body of Jesus from the cross and wrapped him in the buriel cloth. He was then placed in the tomb that belonged to Joseph.

Jesus was removed when the Roman soldiers stabbed a spear into Jesus' side making sure he was dead. Then they took his body and took it to a tomb where he would soon be risen.
