John Tyler had no Vice President. John Tyler was the Vice President under President William Henry Harrison from March 4, 1841 to April 4, 1841. President William Henry Harrison died 32 days into his term, and John Tyler Succeeded Harrison to become the The 10th President of the United States. President Tyler finished the term without a Vice President from April 4, 1841 March 4, 1845.

Added: This is a working example of the "line of succession" of political power in the US. Although no elected Vice-President was in office, president pro tempore of the Senate would have assumed the DUTIES of Tyler's Vice President had the necessity for such an eventuality presented itself. It was not until the 25th Amendment to the constitution was passed that a legal mechanism existed to replace the Vice President outside of an election.

John Tyler was Vice President in 1841 under President William Henry Harrison from March 4, 1841 to April 4, 1841. John Tyler became the 10th President of the United States when Harrison died 32 days into his term. John Tyler was in office from April 4, 1841 to March 4, 1845, and did not have a Vice President.

One of Tyler's last acts as president was to sign bills permitting Texas and Florida to be admitted to the US.

Tyler never ran for President. He was the running mate of William Henry Harrison and so was elected vice-president when Harrison was elected President. Tyler became President because Harrison died in office.

William Henry Harrison, the 9th President of the United States, was John Tyler's only running mate; they ran for President & Vice-President, respectively, on the winning

Whig ticket in the 1840 election. Harrison, who supposedly caught cold from the intense chill of his Inauguration Day's outdoor ceremony, died after only a month in office, elevating John Tyler to the presidency. Tyler wished to stand for re-election in 1844, but had alienated both the major political parties of the time (the Whigs & the Democrats) and his attempts to field a third-party candidacy came to naught.

John Tyler was never elected President on his own right. He was the first Vice-President to succeed a President who died in office, and who could not finish their term in office. John Tyler never got the chance to run for reelection since his political positions diverged greatly from both major political parties of the era (the Whigs and the Democrats). He left the Presidency when William Henry Harrison's unfinished term expired on March 4th, 1845.

No.

John Tyler was the vice-president and became President due to the death of William Henry Harrison on April 4, 1841. He did not have a Vice-President. In those days, there was no way to fill a vacancy in the vice-presidency before the next election.
